Much of the stress and unhappiness in people's lives today, is caused by negative thinking. There is a constant battle going on between negative and positive thoughts, and when there is some type of setback in your life, those negative thoughts can become rampant. Sometimes, though, even day to day living can be overwhelmed by negative thoughts for those who are unable to control their spread.



Being positive all the time is hard and I'm sure negative thoughts have crossed your mind from time to time. That's natural! You can think negative, but as long as you act towards your positive thinking, you are way ahead of the game in controlling your thoughts!



Acting on a positive thought or idea - doing something no matter whether or not you think it will work, is really what makes all the difference. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't - How will you know if you don't even try? People who fail to succeed, succeed at failing.



The idea is that in order tobe successful at something, we must first think positive - we must convince ourselves that we can do it. Even better, we should visualize ourselves doing it.



Having an attitude for success is critical to your success in your personal and business life, in fact, in any endeavor we pursue. So how do you get and maintain an attitude for success? Although it isn't easy and everyone struggles with it from time to time, there are certain strategies and principles when followed, will help to ensure a successful positive attitude.



Goal Setting - Create and write down something you would like to accomplish. It seems, when you have it in written form, you are more likely to try and achieve that goal. Think of it like a contract. Set a deadline and see to it you work to achieve it.



Limit Your Negativity - I'm going to be positive! Wow, that's a tough one, I know, but you can do it! - Don't let Negativity win you over? Don't get discouraged, some negativity will get through, it always does, but the key to maintaining positive is what you choose to think and focus on.



Visualize - See yourself reaching and achieving your dream or goal! Find a quiet place and time to think. Think of the path you need to acquire what you want to achieve. Write them down, and visualize yourself achieving that goal.



Action - Don't sit on your thumbs! Do something to get you to your goal. Seeing results will have a positive reaction. You have to start sometime, Why not Start Now? Ask yourself this question - If you continue to do what you are currently doing, where will it get you?



Positive thinking is very contagious and leads to having a great attitude, creating a sense of accomplishment, to better relationships, improved physical condition, and better yet - contentment of self-worth and self esteem!
